Support Wrexham Foodbank This Lent

17th February 2026

The soaring cost of living is continuing to drive record numbers of people on the lowest incomes to their food bank .

Already, we have provided over 8,000 food parcels to people struggling in the community, and the amount of help needed isn’t covered by food donations alone. It’s not right that each year we’re seeing more people than ever needing emergency food!

In the coming 6 weeks, as the Church marks the season of Lent, Wrexham Food Bank will provide emergency food parcels for local individuals and families facing hardship.

Take Part in the Lent Calendar

This Lent, we’re inviting the Wrexham community to take part in our Lent Calendar Challenge – a simple but powerful way to make a difference. The idea is simple: donate one food item for each of the 40 days of Lent.

The food bank is calling on the local Wrexham community to donate food, if they can, to ensure that they can continue to support everyone who needs their help. By the end of Lent, your donations will help ensure we can continue supporting local people in need. You can drop off your collected food donations at our food bank location throughout Lent. Please check our opening times and see if there are specific items we’re running low on before you visit.

Give it up for Good

If you’re planning to give something up for Lent this year, why not turn your sacrifice into something that makes a real difference for those struggling in our community?

It’s easy to take part:

  1. Choose what you’re giving up Coffee • Chocolate • Takeaways • Snacks • Impulse buys
  2. Save the money you would have spent Use a digital savings pot or save up manually.
  3. Donate your total at Easter When Lent ends, donate the amount you’ve saved to Wrexham Foodbank. Your sacrifice becomes practical support for people facing hardship.

Take Part as a Group

Churches, workplaces, schools and community groups can join the challenge together by creating a shared digital pot and donating as a team.

It’s a great way to stay motivated and multiply your impact.
