Volunteer

Lend a hand to fight hunger.

“I love being part of a great team which is able to serve it’s local community and put a smile on the faces of people who are going through a tough time”

Volunteers are the lifeblood of foodbanks. Will you join us in our mission to fight hunger and support those in need?

By volunteering your time, you can help us provide essential food and resources to our community.  As a volunteer, your unique skills and abilities could be precisely what we require to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. Whether you have a few hours to spare or want to commit regularly, your contribution makes a significant difference.

We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are different ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference in the life of someone in crisis.

Join Our Team in the Warehouse

Parcel Maker

FRIDAY AVAILABILITY: Help us keep operations running smoothly by weighing and sorting donated food into parcels for our 8 satellite centres around Wrexham.

If you’re organised and have a keen eye for detail, this role is perfect for you! You’ll be checking, recording, and sorting stock by date. It’s a physical role, so you’ll be on your feet and need to be comfortable with lifting and keeping our warehouse clean and safe.

We provide manual handling training, so you’ll be well-prepared. If you’re comfortable with lifting, we’d love to have you on board!

Satellite Centre Volunteer

We are in search of a warm and friendly person to participate in at least one of our weekly satellite distribution sessions, which take place from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. You will be the welcoming face of our foodbank centre, helping to create a supportive environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

Your role will involve greeting and guiding visitors, distributing emergency food parcels, and connecting visitors to additional services and support tailored to their needs. It will also include assisting with stock management, setting up and packing down.

To thrive in this role, you will:

  • love meeting new people and making them feel welcome
  • bring compassion and resilience to challenging situations
  • be mature, reliable, punctual, and a true team player
  • be comfortable with physical work (such as lifting and handling food parcels)
  • willing to use or learn IT equipment and systems (like an Android tablet)
  • be able to keep clear and accurate written and electronic records
  • be able to follow procedures carefully to ensure we meet our standards and provide consistent support.Welsh is desirable

Interested in Joining Our Team?

If any of the roles above catch your eye, we’d love to hear from you!

Please keep in mind when applying that we kindly ask that you provide two references (non-family members) who have known you for at least a year. Currently, we are unable to accept volunteers under the age of 18 due to the nature of the work and roles we have available.
