New premises for warehouse: July 24th 2018

28th July 2018

Wrexham Foodbank is pleased to share the news that the council have been able to provide temporary accommodation so we can continue our work feeding local people in crisis. Cllr Andrew Atkinson, Lead Member for Youth Services and Anti-Poverty, said:

“I am very pleased that we have been able to secure a suitable site for the Foodbank in council premises. A lot of work has gone into this and I’m grateful for the hard work of a number of council officers, all of whom have pulled out all the stops to assist the Foodbank. While this arrangement will still be temporary, we hope it will provide them with time enough to secure their ideal location, meaning they will not have to make any further moves.”

Donations can be brought to the Foodbank Centre on Dean Road as of next week on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10am and 3pm.

Items we are in need of are: UHT milk, tinned fruit, coffee, tinned tomatoes, tinned rice pudding, sanitary towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo and deodorant.

Over the last 12 months Wrexham Foodbank has given out over 2000 emergency food parcels feeding over 4000 people, as well as providing a listening ear, toiletries and signposting to further help. Volunteers also run a cooking course and help the Holiday Hunger project feeding children in the school holidays.
